From Porto Airport: Take the A4 to Vila Real. Once in Amarante take the signs to Mesão Frio, N 101. At Mesão Frio take the N 108 to Peso da Régua. In Peso da Régua cross over the river and then a little further after crossing another bridge, turn right to Lamego (13km). In Lamego make your way to the Cathedral (Se), taking the EN226 in front of the Cathedral to Moimenta da Beira. You must then look out for a stone marked 16.7km and after seeing this you will be approaching the outskirts of Britiande. Then you will see a signpost saying 'Britiande'. 300m after this, turn left passing a restaurant called 'Stop'. 30m after this you will see São Sebastião Square (Largo de São Sebastião). You will then see Casa de Sto. António de Britiande on your right.

Casa de Santo António de Britiande is situated on the outskirts of the famous Douro Valley in Britiande itself, a village frequently featured in medieval documents. It is believed that the front of the house was built in th 16th century. The house has a 17th century chapel containing panels of “azulejos” (tiles), an alter and a ceiling in gilt carved wood. Many years ago the manor house was a place of rest for the monks of Ferreirim Convent (1,5km).
